National Day of Prayer.

Scheduled for Thursday, May 2, 2024.

Since 1952, in this land in which we declare, “In God we trust!” we have legislated that…

“The President shall set aside and proclaim a suitable day each year, other than a Sunday, as a National Day of Prayer, on which the people of the United States may turn to God in prayer and meditation at churches, in groups, and as individuals.”

This year’s National Day of Prayer theme is, “Lift up the Word…Light up the World,” based upon 2 Samuel 22, “For you are my lamp, O Lord, and my God lightens my darkness. For by You I can run against a troop, and by my God I can leap over a wall. This God—His way is perfect; the word of the Lord proves true; He is a shield for all those who take refuge in Him.”

At Metro Christian Academy, we see prayer as one of the ways in which we keep our middle name central to our identity.

In addition to praying at chapel, during meetings, before competitions, and in class, we partner in prayer in other ways, as well.

For example, we have Dads in Prayer monthly, Moms in Prayer weekly, Staff Prayer weekly, Parents in Prayer, prayer walks, etc.

Additionally, we have perennial days of prayer:

For this Thursday’s National Day of Prayerhere are some of the anticipated features:

  • HS prayer prompts in Bible Classrooms, as well as Chapel
  • MS prayer prompts in the Lower-level Commons.
  • ES prayer lessons in classrooms.
  • Business Office prayer lunch.
  • Marketing, Communication and Admissions Team prayer lunch.
  • An employee prayer chapel.
  • Parents in Prayer.

Just to name a few.

So, whether you can join us this Thursday at 7:45am in the Auditorium for Parents in Prayer with Campus Pastor AJ Klerekoper, please join us in praying for Metro Christian Academy and beyond on Thursday, May 2 and beyond.

May we be God’s people doing God’s work in God’s way.

Praying together,

Keith

2 Samuel 22:29-31
