Faculty Positions

Seeking highly qualified professionals devoted to the pursuit of excellence through Christ, Metro Christian Academy is dedicated to providing an exceptional educational experience for our students. Instructional staff members are expected to hold certificates with the Oklahoma State Department of Education in their respective teaching assignments. ASL Teacher

Metro Christian Academy seeks a full-time ASL teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. The ASL teacher is responsible for planning and implementing curriculum and classroom instruction in ASL I and ASL II for grades 9-12.

To be considered, applicant must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree with a Master’s Degree preferred from an accredited college or university and hold an Oklahoma State Teaching Certificate. Preference will be given to candidates that are ALSTA certified or have their Oklahoma Interpreters certification.

College Algebra/Secondary Math Teacher

Metro Christian Academy seeks a College Algebra/Secondary Math teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. This is a full-time position that will teach high school classes. Preference will be given to candidates with a Master’s Degree in Math or 18 graduate hours in Math in order to teach dual-credit College Algebra.

To be considered, applicants must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree with a Master’s Degree preferred from an accredited college or university and hold an Oklahoma State Teaching Certificate.

Elementary School Teacher

MCA seeks a full-time Elementary Teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. This position is responsible for teaching elementary students using the school-sanctioned learning standards and accompanying curriculum resources. 

The elementary school teaching candidate must demonstrate proficiency in age-appropriate and content-specific pedagogy, standards-based instructional strategies, and interactive learning approaches. The ideal candidate is engaging and collaborative, develops connected relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, and is an authentic Christian with a passion for serving God and others.

Elementary Spanish Immersion Teacher

Metro Christian Academy seeks a full-time Elementary Spanish Immersion teacher for the remainder of the 2023-2024 school year, beginning January 2024. The Elementary Spanish Immersion teacher must demonstrate ACTFL proficiency rating of Advanced High or above if not a native speaker.  Must also demonstrate proficiency in age-appropriate and content-specific pedagogy, standards-based instructional strategies, and interactive learning approaches. The ideal candidate is engaging and collaborative, develops connected relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, and is an authentic Christian with a passion for serving God and others. 

This position will collaborate with English track teachers to ensure dual proficiency in grade level core content and literacy. The teacher must create and maintain a language immersion atmosphere (visually and verbally) and provide effective and consistent communication with immersion families. The ideal applicant believes that all students are capable of dual language achievement and is open to teaching in an innovative learning environment. 

Metro Christian Academy is partnering with Add.a.lingua to provide a proven, research-based, dual language experience.  Add.a.lingua is an organization distinguished by their excellence in dual language immersion education in Christian schools across the country.  Spanish Immersion teachers will participate in Add.a.lingua professional development and teacher training modules. 

Must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and hold an Oklahoma State Teaching Certificate in Elementary or Early Childhood Education.

Elementary Spanish Immersion Teaching Assistant

Metro Christian Academy seeks a full-time Elementary School Spanish Immersion teaching assistant for the 2024-2025 school year. The Spanish Immersion teaching assistant must be fully bilingual and have experience working with children in a school setting.  The ideal candidate is engaging and collaborative, develops connected relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, and is an authentic Christian with a passion for serving God and others. 

The Spanish Immersion teaching assistant will help create and maintain an authentic language immersion experience (visually and verbally) by partnering closely with the lead teacher to provide wholesome, engaging, and age-appropriate learning activities in the target language.   

Metro Christian Academy is partnering with Add.a.lingua to provide a proven, research-based, dual-language experience.  Add.a.lingua is an organization distinguished by their excellence in dual-language immersion education in Christian schools across the country. 

This is a full-time, ten-month, at-will, position, working 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 7:50am-3:20pm, following the school calendar. Minimum qualification for this position is a high school diploma, desired, or G.E.D. Qualified candidate must be able to read, write and speak both Spanish and English proficiently.

Elementary Music Teacher

Metro Christian Academy seeks a full-time Elementary Music Teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. The School Music Teacher is responsible for planning and implementing musical activities for students P-3 to Fifth grade. Must hold an Oklahoma State Teaching Certificate in the desired field.

Metro Christian Academy seeks a high school History and Bible teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. This is a full-time position that will teach high school classes. Courses taught will be based on the applicants experience and expertise.

Middle School Counselor Position

Metro Christian Academy seeks a MS Counselor to provide comprehensive counseling to students in grades 6-8. This is a full-time position for the 2024-2025 school year.

Substitute Teacher

Substitutes play a major role in carrying out the activities planned by our teachers, providing continuity in the classroom, and ensuring the educational process is not interrupted when the regular teacher is absent. Principals and teachers greatly recognize the value our subs bring and would love to welcome you and encourage you to consider becoming a Substitute Teacher with Metro.

Maintenance Positions

The Maintenance Department and its team members are responsible for maintaining the various Metro Christian Academy facilities and grounds at a high standard for our students and their families, faculty and staff members, patrons and donors, and visitors to our campus.

Custodian

This full-time position is responsible for general and detailed cleaning and janitorial duties to ensure the neatness and cleanliness of the building and surrounding facility which include, but are not limited to, classrooms, offices, hallways, stairwells, restrooms, gymnasiums, parking lot and campus grounds. The qualified candidate must have a working knowledge of cleaning practices, methods and techniques and must be able to safely use the various tools and equipment necessary to perform the essential functions of the position. This position also assists with set up, break down and clean-up of various events or activities in/around the building.

The hours are Monday-Friday, 3:15pm-11:15pm, August to May and day shift hours in June and July. Some weekends and varying work schedules may be required depending on the activities within the school.  This is a full-time, 40 hours/week position with benefits.

The minimum qualification for this position is at least one year experience working as a custodian, or any equivalent combination of training and experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Administrative Positions

At Metro, the Administrators alongside the IT, Security, and Health Team Members work with the faculty to help foster a culture of community and create an experience that our students, families, and guests love! After-School Program Aide

The After School Program Aide provides oversite to students participating in Metro’s After School PACK/PASS Programs. Candidates must work well with children and youth ages 3 years to 8th grade, have excellent conflict resolution and communication skills. and be patient and energetic. Aides should be able to give and receive instruction, as well as work independently. Click here to learn more about this position.

The After School program is open Monday-Friday, 2:30pm – 5:30pm. High school seniors are welcome to apply. Specific days and hours can be discussed during the interview. We are willing to work around school schedules.
