Visual Arts Programs

High School Art students study drawing, painting, ceramics, design, photography, and sculpture. For advanced art students, MCA offers AP Studio Art, where students produce college level works that are nationally adjudicated. MCA's student artwork is on permanent display in museums, the U.S. capitol, and appears annually in local museums and coffee shops.

Middle School Art explores a wide variety of mediums that incorporate art history and fundamental art concepts.  Students participate in local, state and national competitions.

Elementary students participate in art beginning in pre-school through 5th grade.  The elementary program sets the foundation for secondary visual art programs.
Vocal Music

The Concert Choirs are groups of 6th-12th grade students that perform at numerous functions, including the Christmas Concert, Chapels, various contests, festivals, and the MCA graduation. In recent years, the Choir has performed at such nationally known locations as Disney World and Carnegie Hall. The choir sings classical, sacred, pop, and seasonal arrangements and often incorporates choreography into their performances.

All Elementary students participate in music, including musical productions at all grade levels. This early training prepares student for secondary level vocal music. In addition to grade level productions, many elementary students participate in the all school musical held each spring.

Instrumental Music

The high school band becomes a pep band for football games and pep assemblies, learning a wide variety of music to cheer our teams on to victory. They also serve as a concert band performing at several musical events throughout the year.  The high school band has traveled to Branson, Kansas City, and Hollywood, CA.

Winter Guard

Winter Guard, new to MCA in 2009, is a combination of dance and equipment work set to music. The group develops a three to four minute performance set to music showcasing the precision work with equipment such as flags, rifles, and sabers, as well as body movement and dance. Competitions are usually held indoors during winter and early spring.
